The Dreamcast Development Kit (Katana) containing Tower of Babel (studio name unknown)

This page invites you to explore the development files of a Dreamcast Development Kit containing data related to the Dreamcast tech demo of Tower of Babel and its playable version on an actual console. SEGA likely used the Tower of Babel tech demo on Dreamcast to test—or repair—development kits before sending them to the relevant studios. The Readme file accompanying the demo build states: ‘Dreamcast Set5.20/MP/PP BABEL for hardware verification 8/8/1998 SEGA ST SYSTEM R&D S.UCHIDA’.

Regarding Tower of Babel for Dreamcast: a working prototype of SEGA’s tech demo exists. This demo is available in GD-I and CD-I formats. It is the first version capable of running on an actual Dreamcast and also includes music. Previously, other discovered revisions of Tower of Babel could only be run on emulators.
