The Dreamcast development dit (Katana) from Eurocom

This page invites you to explore Eurocom’s development files, including data related to the Dreamcast version of NBA Hoopz and its prototype. The Katana Development Kit also contains an incomplete build of Hydro Thunder. It is an appendix to [Dreamcast Development Kits (Katana) to Download], which lists the available Dreamcast (Katana) development kits on the site.

Eurocom was a British video game studio founded in 1988 by Mat Sneap and John Ryder. The company quickly built a strong reputation for its technical expertise, particularly in adapting games across different platforms and porting popular licenses. It worked on franchises such as James Bond, Harry Potter, and various Disney titles. Despite its success, Eurocom faced increasing market challenges in the 2010s and ultimately closed its doors in 2012.

Regarding NBA Hoopz for Dreamcast: A working prototype of the game by Eurocom exists. It is available in GD-I format only. The build is dated January 9, 2001, just six days before the final American version (January 15, 2001).

Regarding Hydro Thunder for Dreamcast: Unfortunately, the files for Hydro Thunder recovered from Eurocom’s Dev Kit appear to be corrupted. As a result, the prototype does not work, although it is possible to extract some data, such as incomplete portions of the game’s source code.
