The Dreamcast development dit (Katana) from Rage Software

This page invites you to explore the development files from Rage Software containing data related to the Dreamcast and PlayStation 1 versions of UEFA Striker (Striker Pro 2000), including the partial source code of the PSX version. It is an appendix to [Dreamcast Development Kits (Katana) to Download], which lists the available Dreamcast (Katana) development kits on the site.

Founded in 1992 in Manchester, Rage Software was a British video game development and publishing studio. It gained recognition in the 1990s and early 2000s for console and PC titles spanning sports, racing, and action genres. Among these were the Striker series (Striker in 1992, Striker ’96 in 1996, and Eric Cantona Football Challenge), Incoming, and Hardcorps. The company experienced rapid growth but was liquidated in 2003 due to financial difficulties and increasing competition in the industry.

Regarding UEFA Striker on Dreamcast: After applying a patch, a "prototype" of Rage Software’s title runs partially. The player can only navigate the menus; the game itself remains inaccessible. To run it, you need to download the custom v1.031 BIOS from Japanese Cake (available here), place it in the “Data” directory of the NullDC emulator, and rename it to “dc_boit.bin”.

You can download this semi-functional prototype of UEFA Striker for Dreamcast below:

Regarding UEFA Striker on PlayStation 1: Some folders on the Dev Kit hard drive correspond to the PSX version of the game. They contain the incomplete source code of UEFA Striker on PS1, but include several debugging symbols for different platforms (PC, Dreamcast, and PSX). Although the original code cannot be executed, these symbols are still useful, as they provide information on function calls and all variables. Note also a few internal developer jokes in the code: Pentium ProcessorComputer Porn, Axl RoseOral Sex, Chesney HawkesCheesy Whanks.
